With COVID-19 cases still surging through our communities, it’s possible that you or your loved ones may test positive for the virus in the coming weeks.
The good news is that for many milder cases, you can ease your symptoms and get on the mend right from home.
Some ways you can care for yourself or others with COVID-19 are:
- STAY HYDRATED with water. Only use electrolyte beverages if recommended by your medical team.
- TREAT your symptoms with over-the-counter medication as recommended by your doctor, and get plenty of rest.
- STAY HOME AND QUARANTINE. Avoid contact with others, including members of your own household. Stay in your own room and use a separate bathroom, if possible.
- MONITOR your symptoms. If your condition worsens or you have trouble breathing, go to a hospital immediately.
These tips are not meant as a substitute for medical advice from a doctor. If your symptoms worsen, especially if you have difficulty breathing, contact your doctor and go to a hospital immediately. Individuals over 65 or individuals with pre-existing conditions such as obesity, asthma, diabetes, or lung cancer should take extra precautions if they contract COVID-19 and seek medical advice immediately.
