Coverage Change for OTC Narcan
Attention Laborers –
The Plan will now cover over-the-counter (OTC) NARCAN (naloxone) nasal spray as part of the Plan’s prescription drug benefit administered by Express Scripts. NARCAN is a drug designed to reverse opioid overdose. If you or someone you know is at risk for opioid overdose, especially if suffering from Opioid Use Disorder, consider carrying NARCAN (naloxone) nasal spray or keeping it at home.
Information you need to know:
- Present your Express Scripts prescription ID card at the pharmacy for the Plan to cover this life-saving OTC medication at no cost to you.
- Be sure to notify the pharmacy that your plan provides over-the-counter coverage. Any member or dependent covered by the Plan is eligible for this benefit.
- Coverage is limited to two (2) boxes per covered individual per year. Each box includes two (2) nasal spray devices.
