CPR Certification Saves Lives

Published On: February 24, 2022

You never know when an emergency could strike. If someone goes into cardiac arrest, knowing CPR can make the difference between life and death.

Cardiac arrest is a sudden, unexpected loss of heart function, breathing, and consciousness. Performing CPR on an individual in cardiac arrest keeps the blood flowing through the body until emergency medical assistance arrives.

CPR is easy to learn! Certification classes can also give you formal training in instructing others during an emergency and how to best assist paramedics. These CPR certification classes will also teach you how to use a Defibrillator, also known as an AED, a device that sends an electric shock or pulse to restart the heart.

When you get CPR certified, you gain the knowledge you need to act in an emergency. The more people who are CPR certified, the better!

All Laborers are eligible for CPR classes through the New England Laborers’ Training Association. Reach out to your Union Hall to see if there are classes available near you.
