Get At-Home COVID-19 Tests At No Cost To You
Effective May 12, 2023: Due to the end of the Covid emergency period, the Fund will no longer provide coverage for over-the-counter Covid tests. The Fund will still provide coverage for medically necessary tests ordered by a physician and administered at an in-network laboratory.
We are happy to share that Express Scripts now covers the cost of at-home COVID-19 tests retroactively beginning January 15.
You can now get reimbursed for up to eight FDA-authorized, rapid, at-home COVID tests per month. However, please note that this coverage will not apply to any at-home COVID test purchased before January 15, 2022.
Here’s how it works:
- Call your local retail pharmacy to see if they have at-home COVID-19 tests available.
- Take your Express Scripts ID card to a retail pharmacy in your network.
- Bring the COVID-19 test to the pharmacy counter, not the regular checkout lane.
- Check out at the pharmacy counter and show your ID card. Your at-home COVID-19 test should automatically ring up at no cost to you.
To find a retail pharmacy in your network, visit express-scripts.com and click “Find a Pharmacy.” If you weren’t able to purchase your at-home COVID-19 test(s) at the pharmacy counter, or happened to be charged, you can fill out our reimbursement form or submit your receipt for reimbursement of up to $12 per test online at our COVID-19 resource center.
Please note that upon purchase, you may have to sign a waiver assuring that the tests are for personal or covered family member use and not for employment purposes or resale.
